Our government must be transparent and accountable to the people. Yet in 2015, under Republican leadership in Lansing, Michigan was ranked as the worst state in the nation for government accountability and transparency, the two most important things to prevent corruption.

The government and its agencies must prioritize serving its people. The Michigan Dems are committed to creating a culture that encourages everyone, especially the public figures we support and help elect, to take responsibility for how their choices affect the public.

The Michigan Dems and the Democrats we helped elect and continue to support believe that:

  • We need to improve the connection between the public and our government.
  • We must help the public hold their government and corporations accountable for mistreatment and misdeeds.
