Black Lives Matter in Muskegon County

Black Lives Matter. We cannot remain silent as our fellow Americans are senselessly murdered based on the color of their skin. Being silent in the face of injustice means that we are contributing to deliberate and systemic violence against Black Americans.

Black people in Muskegon County deserve to feel safe and protected in our communities.

The experiences of Black Americans with the police cannot be ignored, and we must address the inequities that exist in our criminal justice system. We must honestly confront issues of police brutality and stop it before it happens. Too many families have lost loved ones at the hands of the police.

It is not enough to stay silent. It is not enough to encourage people to vote. It is not enough to support peaceful protests. We must always do more. Black Lives Matter.
